I have a dear friend with Cushing's Syndrome, which screws up her cortisol and other hormone levels...? |
She has not had a period since 3 days after she had her second surgery in March to remove a tumor from her pituitary gland. This was over two months ago and her hormone levels remain too high, but are stabilizing. If she can't have a period, can she get pregnant and carry a baby to term? She has been told that if her hormones do not stabilize, the only treatment left is radiation therapy (gamma knife), which will probably leave her unable to have children. I know that Cushing's is relatively rare and that there is not a huge information out there on it, but am hoping to hear from others who have been in similar situations or who know someone who has and has been able to have children.
