What are the symptoms of Cushing's Syndrome (from someone who has experience with it)?

PLEASE DO NOT REFER ME TO A SYMPTOMS SEARCH SITE OR COPY AND PASTE AN ANSWER!

I only want to hear what the symptoms of Cushing's (and adrenal tumors) are from someone such as a doctor, nurse, relative, person who has it, etc... What symptoms do you typically see in yourself/your loved one, or the patients you've treated? How long does it take to progress and what is generally the prognosis?

Cushing's Syndrome:
Moon facies, buffalo hump behind your neck, purple strech marks on your body, hypertension, and truncal obesity.

You end up looking like a Mr. Potatoe Head doll, and it is not pleasant. The patient's I've treated have had terrible problems with their weight and their blood pressure. They come up with horrible self body images, and they end up wanting plastic surgery for the stretch marks. They are so tired, and usually complain of depression like symptoms.

It varies from patient to patient on the progression, as it depends on how big and active the tumors already are.

The prognosis is good once it is treated. It is surgically removed, and most people do not experiance a reoccurance.
It isn't an adrenal tumor for the most part... in fact it is actually a pituitary tumor which causes the Syndrome... that and Self Ingestion of Cortical Steroids, which I too have also seen. In that case, you have the patient stop the medication slowly.

Excess Cortisol causes the patients to have weakened bones, and sometimes that too brings them through the ER with a fracture.

The treatment is you go in through the back of the mouth and cut out the tumor in the pituitary gland. AKA a brain surgery. Not super fun, but effective. The try to take only so much of the pituitary gland so that they don't have to end up replacing hormones afterward, but sometimes they do have to replace the rest of the hormones associated with the gland.
