sounds like syndrome x to me!

This is such a rare condition that I would think that if you were diagnosed by a Doctor that the Doctor could answer your question. If you are self diagnosing like my step daughter did, you need to see a Doctor because there are other conditions that mimic the symptoms...like thyroid problems or poly cystic ovarian syndrome. I will be surprised if someone on this site will actually have experience with this condition.

Yes, it should. It should also thin out your face and help with any skin conditions you developed 2ndary to the disease.

It depends on what caused your Cushing Disease and what the treatment will be.

This is one source I found.

"The symptoms, disabilities and life-style of a person with Cushing's Syndrome depend on the degree of cortisol excess, the duration of the disease, the basic health of the person, but especially the type and curability of the Cushing's Syndrome. If it is cured, all of the features of the disease can resolve, but this may take as long as 2 to 18 months. During that time, most people get annoyed and frustrated by the slow improvements in physical changes and the combination of Cushing's and adrenal insufficiency signs and symptoms (dizziness, weakness, nausea, loss of appetite) as replacement steroid hormones are tapered and adrenal hormone production slowly improves toward normal. Frequent calls and visits to physicians are necessary.

"If the Cushing's Syndrome is curable, or if iatrogenic Cushing's Syndrome must remain, these individuals will have to cope with persistent fatigue, muscle weakness, abdominal and facial weight gain, depression, mood swings, and all the other signs and symptoms mentioned earlier. Regular visits to a physician for examinations, blood tests, and treatments of infections and complications will be necessary and are often viewed as a sever burden."

Yes you should have the weight redistributed back to other areas.

Hi
Dont worry.
Everything will be sorted.
Just follow your GP's advice religioiusly.
One of the classic description of Cushimg's Syndrome in books is "LEMON ON MATCH STICKS" appearance, where lemon is the trunk of your body and match sticks are your lower limbs.
With treatment everything should revert back. Time is the healer.

Cushing's syndrome is a constellation of clinical abnormalities caused by chronic high blood levels of cortisol or related corticosteroids. Cushing's disease is Cushing's syndrome that results from excess pituitary production of ACTH, usually secondary to a pituitary adenoma. Typical symptoms include moon facies and truncal obesity with thin arms and legs. Diagnosis is by history of receiving corticosteroids or by elevated serum cortisol. Treatment depends on the cause.
Please see the web pages for more details on Cushing's syndrome.

once the problem is correctly addressed the weight should come off. good luck.
