Possible Thyroid Problem? |
My best friend has Cushing's Syndrome and her mom is really into researching glandural problems. After I told her of a few symptoms I was having, she suggested that I might have a thyroid problem. It sounds logical, but I'm not sure if I should get tested. Here's some facts and symptoms of what's been going on: Some of the symptoms you are having sounds like a thyroid problem. I have a low active thyroid and have been on medication for 8yrs now. Here are some of the symptoms associated with low active thyroid. Fatigue, depression weight gain, thin brittle nails, thinning hair, yellowish tint to the skin, muscle aches, short term memory loss, feeling tired all the time, heavy or irregular period. If you have any or all of these symptoms, you should really go get tested for it. Good luck. Yes, get tested then you will know for sure. No i do not think you have a thyroid problem. It could be something else. Im not really sure...but go to the Doctor Sounds a lot like hypothyroidism to me! Get a blood test from your doctor, and they will tell you. If you are hypo, have your mom schedule an appointment with an endocronologist ASAP. All you will have to di is take this tiny little pill in the morning. Well I would say that if this is how your periods been and you never were worried about before, if this is how you have felt for a while but you never mentioned it to a doctor then no, not just because a friend of yours mother said so. But then agian if you were talking to her about it because you were already worried then you should go to someone and say the same thing you said here. I wouldn't be to worried unless it really is effecting the way you are living. Good luck. |
