Can using crutches cause migraines/headaches? |
Ok I know this is going to sound really weird but can using crutches cause you to get migrane type symptoms? I messed up my ankle and started using crutches on Thurs. I don't use them around the house and spent most of the weekend with my foot proped up on the couch. The last couple of days, especially since this morning, I haven't felt right. It's almost like I'm trying to get a migraine but not quite. My head hurts a little but not bad, but I'm really naous, light headed and more sensitive to light. Basically I feel like crap. My supervisor told me that it could be because I'm using the muscles in my shoulders more than usual and it's causing my head to hurt. The best way to explain what I feel like is basically a concusion after the headache has gone away. I know that sounds weird but I've had several and after a day or 2 the headache goes away but the rest of the symptoms stay the same and I was told that basically sounds like a migraine, which i've dealt with and this is different I didn't get knocked upside the head with a crutch, nor to my recollection injure my head recently. I took some advil migraine and phenagrin (sp?) for the nausea but just wanted to know if it could be in fact caused by the stupid crutches Here are the symptoms of a migraine: Auras or spots in your eyes like when you look at the sun; tingling sensations in any of your extremities, sometimes numbness; sensetivity to light, nausea/vomiting. Chances are it's probably a pinched nerve in your shoulder, even your siatic nerve from those crutches. Phone the doctor. If I were to hit you up along the side of your head with a crutch, you would have a headache |
