Wearing crutches to school? |
Hi, today I wore crutches to school, and my armpits hurt so bad. I can walk pretty good on my foot, but my mom says that I have to wear them tommorow since I go see the Dr. It was really hard for me to get to classes and I almost fell! The Dr. told me I don't need them, but my mom insists that I use them, so it won't cause the same problem again. What should I do? Use pieces of cloth and wrap it around the armpit place, I go with your mom, just stay with them now, have a friend help you into and out of class. You'll be okay in a few days. Normally I see people wrap towels around the part that goes under your armpit. It seems to pad it and make it not hurt as much. I've never had crutches but this is generally what I see with my friends and other kids around school. OMG, I feel your pain. I had to wear crutches at school when I sprained my foot and it hurt my hands and armpits so much. Also I was really clumsy on them and couldnt get around very easily. I have seen some people replace the regular pads with really soft fluffy ones. I never got a chance to try it but I've heard it helps a lot. like the last person said towels help, you can also lower the height of the crutches so that you are not put all of your weight on you armpits. when your dropping them like that you are using more of your arms to support your weight, which will help with the chafing in your pits, but it will also help you build so more muscle in your arms. but if you bet tired you still can put the crutches in your armpits!!! hope this helps!!! put towels on them. tape them on to the top. put baby powder on ur armpits and put lotion on ur armpits. ur not beinga nerd by the lotion but it will help ur armpits. |
