Do you get crutches from the doctors office if you broke your ankle? |
do you get crutches right there in the doctors office if your broke your ankle, or do you just get a cast put when and after you get the x rays? Yes I got crutches when I sprained my ankle. you get crutches. i did after i just sprained it. It depends on where the break is and how bad it is. My daughter broke her ankle but not bad so she had a cast on (a walking cast) but no crutches. In the U.S., crutches and certain other medical supplies are covered by insurance and Medicaire. You get a prescription, I think, and then buy them at a medical supply store. You'll notice a store like this near most hospitals. crutches r usually provided for those who r finding it difficult to walk, so i guess if u can't walk u'll need support until ur cast is off or till u can walk without an aid. (I have no clue about the us system) you usually go to the hospital then they xray it and if you need a cast and crutches you get them then and there I don't think the doctors surgery will have them as you also need to get the right height in crutches to fit you. some dr's give crutches in their office but not all. go to the er if your in need for some |
