Croup in a 7 month old and 2 year old? |
I brought both my kids to the dr yesterday and he said they both had croup my son had a temperatuyre of 101.2 yesterday and they didnt say anything about his temp my daughter woke up this morning with a temp of 102.6 and i was just reading online to go to the hospital with a high temp, would 102.6 be considered a high temp with croup or am i just worrying? you are allowed to worry...you are a good mom....but always check with your pediatrician regarding medical advice...not everyone on this site is a medical professional...use us for our insight and experience, but put your trust in someone whose credentials you see hanging on the wall...if you feel chastized for calling the office over your concerns find a different doctor.... It is a high temp. Give them Motrin and tylenol to get the fever down. If it isn't going down in a couple of hours call your doc and ask them if they need to see them. it is a high temp but in most cases a higher temp is not as bad in children..i would call first and see what the dr said..are you giving lots of liquids and tylonol?..also the best thing for croup is to start a very hot shower in the bathroom making lots of steam..bring your little ones into the bathroom, place a towel over the door if there is space at the bottom of it..and spend some time in there inhaling the steam..it is one of the best thing to lossen up the phelm. Ibuprofen or Tylenol is good for bringing down the fever. I like ibuprofen better because it lasts longer, only thing is that it has a tendency to cause stomach upset. |
