My son has croup?

my 4 yo woke this morning with croup like he always does with a cold, but i always thought the cough was worse through the night and early morning, his cough isnt as harsh but he is still barking and is very phlegmy cough wise and his nose... the last time he had it he was on the nebuliser twice a day, im just wondering if its normal to still have a croupy cough during the day cos previously he only got it night and morning.... he is a little down and not a s active today and when he cries he has stridor.. any help?? what should i do

There may be a reason your son is having symptoms of croup and stridor - such as an obstruction. Physical obstruction meaning something stuck in his throat. Structural obstruction meaning something causing his airway to close.

It could be benign and not cause him any issues with breathing. However, this needs to be addressed by the doctors because it could be something that could get worse, causing your son to not be able to breathe.

Have you taken him to see a Dr yet? Accurate diagnosis is key to treatment of that particular illness, so if not get him to a Dr. They may want him to go back on the resp. treaments or more.

I would take him to the ER let them prescribe some meds. Run a check for strep.
