Did you child ever suffered from croup? how often and if they have it one they will be having it each season?

my daughter had it 2 weeks back and again now? she is 16months

thank you grey, yes she was caughing all the time but last week her cough became very less and souds normal , and then again became severe

Croup is common in infants and toddlers. You can alternate between the shower warm mist and the cool outside air to help open them up. It can come and go, its a virus just like a cold for you and me, but if the cool and warm alternates are not working then you need to see a doctor for some medications that will help to open them up. Just don't panic, kids pick up on it and will do the same and that will worsen the situation.

Yes, my daughter, and no it doesn't come back every season. If it came back after just 2 weeks, there is a good chance it never went away. Hope she saw a doctor. Good Luck, nothing worse than a sick child

MY son had it when he was like 2yrs old for like a week. Now he is 4 and just got it again he was having bad breathing problems so I took him to his pedeatrician and they gave him steroid medicine to help his lungs and airway not close. He has only had it those 2 times. Its a virus they catch, like a flu virus. Also we bought my son the vicks cool mist air humidifier and it has been helping his cough alot. He was waking up not breathing in the middle of the night. I almost called and ambulance. We put him in the bathroom with hot shower on, hold them in there with door closed it helps them breath better. Not in the shower, just in the bathroom.

Thankfully, it does not occur every winter if they have had it once. She probably never got completely rid of it. They used to hospitalize children and put them in croup tents. These tents produced humidified oxygen which kept them wet all the time and prevented proper healing. Good luck to you and your daughter.
