I was on a whole bunch of steroids and now my period is very irregular -- question?

Hi, sorry in advance if this is too much information, but anyway:

I was on, Flovent (still am), Prednisone (asthma), Decadron (croup), and had locally injected Triamcinalone (neck injury) all within 8 days of each other. (I was also on very high doses of each one of them.)

I normally get my period every 26 days (sometimes as early as 24). This time, however, I got my period at 14 days and I've had it for 17 days since. It's not very heavy, but every time it seems to slow down (even stop for a day or two), I get it back again! This is so frustrating and I'd like to know when this might end. I've been off the steroids for about 10 days now, and I'm 99.9% sure that it's directly related to them because I was having all sorts of other problems while I was on them/withdrawing (from mental changes to dizziness to nausea, etc.).

Please help!!! Is this normal? Will it end? Thank you!

Also, please don't just say "Go to a gyn." THANK YOU!

The steroids have caused a hormone imbalance. An endocrinologist can help, or you can see a hormone specialist, It might take 30 days or so to rebalance your hormones.

Any bleeding that lasts for 10 or more days needs to be evaluated by a doctor to determine the cause. Bleeding for this long plus heavy bleeding can lead to anemia so it's really best to get it checked out. It's very possible that you have a hormonal imbalance occurring, but the only way to know for sure would be to have a blood test done to check your levels. If it is a hormonal imbalance, there is nothing you could do to regulate it unless you see a doctor.
