Can Crohn's disease be cured?

Crohn's disease is an inflammatory disease of the intestines, especially the colon and ileum.

no cure

No but you can control it by eating foods that do not cause your intestines or colon to react.

You can find this out from a nutritionalist served by your local NHS trust in your area. Ask your GP to make and appointment for you to see one.

sadly there is no cure for this disorder.
I have nursed several people with this and there seemed to be three solutions
a) live with it as best you can..going into hospital for antibiotics when it flares up
b) have lots of surgery causing scarring and adhesions over the years while the surgeons "patch you up"
or and this young lass was 21 when she did this
c) have a total colectomy with a colostomy formation at the top end of the colon.
We talked about why she had done it she said it was because the disease was so bad she had no life then since the op her life was hugely better.
Saw her down the night clubs 6 wks ago in skinny tight jeans and a top..she was having a great time

Regrettably, no. However with good treatment its effects can be (to a great extent) minimised. Best bet is consult with a good gastro-enterologist.

no it can only be controlled. my daughter has had it since age 12 shes now 23 and in bad way at the moment.
