I am a 19 year old with Crohn's Disease and have been through many fair ups myself. I recently had surgery so that is over with for now, but during flair ups I usually ate only liquids like soup. If things seemed to be okay I would then start with things like apple sauce and mashed vegetables or potatoes. The key is also keep away from high fibre foods.

You can get more tips though from people who have crohn's disease at the www.crohnsforum.com . This forum has a lot of people on it who have Crohn's Disease and they can give you more tips and suggestions

try not to eat hot n spicy foods

Crohn's disease is a chronic inflammatory disease of the digestive tract and it can involve any part of it, from the mouth to the anus. It typically affects the caecum and/or the terminal ileum as well as demarcated areas of large bowel, with other areas of the bowel being relatively unaffected. It is often associated with auto-immune disorders outside the bowel, such as aphthous stomatitis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Crohn's disease should not be confused with a non-progressive and non-degenerative digestive disorder called irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which is not an autoimmune disease. Ulcerative colitis is a sibling autoimmune disease to Crohn's but only impacts the colon while Crohn's can impact any part of the digestive tract. Furthermore, Crohn's tends to affect multiple layers of the bowel lining, which can lead to many additional and hard-to-treat complications.

I have Chron's. If you have some ammodium (spelling?) on hand that will help with the runs. Hot baths help with the pain ( though if it gets too bad dont hesitate to go to the ER for some relief), and STAY AWAY from all fatty, oily, and spicy foods. You may want to try a bland diet.

I helped a friend with chrons after I got rid of IBS and the same thing worked for both. The right vitamin supplement and grape seed extract did it plus lots of fiber.

Hey, I way diagnosed with crohn's at age 14 (i'm 27 now). You will learn what is best for yourself. It took me 10 years and 5 sugeries to kind of get it under control. In that time, I got married, had a daughter, and beacame a pyshcologist. It does get better andlife goes on!

I have found that imodium twice a day works better than any other meds or diet changes, for the controlling of bathroom breaks.

It's going to be erratic in the beginning. As you age though the flare ups will decrease and you will also build a tolerance for pain (if you don't run for the Vicodin everytime you have a flare up).

BTW, if you could help me with something I need pictures of people in casts for my collage for my senior final art project. If you have any you could send me please contact me through my Answers page (just click on my avatar).
