I have Crohn's Disease, anyone else out there?

Yo! I was cuirous what you(or someone you know) does about their Crohn's Disease. And if you dont' know what Crohn's is, go away. ;)

I am 38 and was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was 13. I have had ups and many downs with it. I just found a doctor in January '07 who put me on Remicade. I was really sick for the past 3 years with pain and a fistula that made its way through my skin(ouchhh). Since he put me on Remicade I have been feeling awesome. The fistula is closed and I have put back all the weight I had lost( over 20 pounds ). Avoid food with seeds if you can help it and nuts. Do not let it control your life and find a good doctor who doesn't recommend surgery the moment you see him and who is willing to try Remicade (it is a God send). Go to www.remicade.com to read about it if you are unfamiliar with it. Good luck.

I am 51 and was diagnosed at 40... I look at the bright side, thank goodness I never had it as a kid... My heart hurts for those with it young and old. I have had over 60 operations, and am inbetween feeling half way decent and tired out of my mind. But I am happy to see each day and do what I can. I also went on the Remacade for fistulas and almost died as I had a reaction to it. The worse is we have no medical and almost lost our house... but still working on things... and the Dr says to stay away from stress LOL.... one day there will be a cure.... I wish you all the luck..... sherrie
