CrAmPs!!!!???

Im getting my first cramps from my monthly visitor and I've never had them b4...I have them really bad and when my mom was my age she used to get them really bad too...i feel like dying and I threw up earlier...I took some motrin about a hour ago and it hasnt kicked in yet...my mom said she got on birth control and it helped her out a ton but she says Im to young to get it and she doesnt want me to think its ok to have sex...is there anything I can do because mine are so bad i wouldnt be able to go to school like this....please help me!!!!

GIIIRRRRLLLL You ain't said nothin but a word!!

I've always had unbearable cramps to the point i would just have to lay out on the floor and couldn't move.

My parents would have to pick me up from school, when I was in school.

I've had to leave from work, I've gotten sick in public. Girl I was a mess.

I don't like birth control because of the side effects and the doctor gave me some other crap that made me feel all crazy and stuff.

So I had to figure out for myself how to deal with mother nature.

Since you're to young for birth control you're going to have to learn some home remedies.

Stay away from the cold drinks, I know you'll have a craving for something cold, but cold makes the cramps worse.

Ask your mom to buy you a heating pad or like I have, one of those old fashioned rubber water bottles, she'll know what it is. LOL! Fill it up with hot water and let it sit on your abdomen.

Of course there's Aleve, Motrin, Advil whatever works for ya.
Don't wait to take the medication when the cramps are at their worst. Once you start feeling crampy take something right away.

Take hot baths!!!!

Try not to eat too many sweets. I crave chocolate.

Drink room temperature ginger ale and eat crackers (Ritz), that helps with feeling nauseous

Don't eat heavy meals, try something like soup or salad

There are many other things I could tell you but I'm getting tired of typing. LOL

Over time you'll figure out your body and what works best for you. Just keep looking for patterns.

Feel Better :^)

midol for teens
works better than anything else
it targets excatly whats going on in teen bodies
i think its in a purple and white box
i love it !!

First off ask your mom to get midol!
Then try
Green Tea
Hot Bath
Place your feet up on a bed
Hot towel around where it hurts
I also take 2 tynoel and then 1 ibprofuen and then 1 midol.
Sleep!
I know this is crazy, but look at anything that remind u of sleeping. One time I looked at my friends ring with a butterfly on it and it reminded me of the sleeping comerical with the butterfly.

i totally feel your pain. the pamprin or midol will help.

My daughter was put on birth control at age 14 with her very 1st period, because she had such a heavy flow that lasted for 2 weeks, and horrible cramps. The Dr. said the only way to manage the problem was BCPs so, that's what we did. It did not make her want to run out and have sex with evey guy she met. She knew she was on them to manage her period.

You can try Aleve, which is a little stronger than motrin, or even get some Midol, which works pretty ok. Also a heating pad may help as well.

I used to get cramps so bad they would literally double me over in pain, and I would turn white as a sheet. The Dr. finally gave me Percocet for the cramps, so I could at least function. Unfortunately because of all the narcotic drug abuse out there, that is not an option anymore. I have since had a hysterectomy for cervical cancer. (Uterus removed)

Sometimes cramps, etc... can be hereditary, and are usually associated with endometriosis, where the lining of the uterus starts growing on the outside of the uterus, and on to the tubes, ovaries, etc. My daughter has endo, and when she was diagnosed, she was only like 22. The 1st Doctor thought she just wanted drugs, and pretty much told her she was too young to have endo. The 2nd Dr. did laparoscopic surgery and they found out she does have endo. She has horrible cramps, and the most they will give her is motrin, which doesn't work for her either.

Good luck. I hope it gets better for you.

I can sympathize with you on this! My cramps get so bad that every couple of months I am in the doctors office pleading for something to get rid of the pain.

I would go see your doctor and get checked out cause cramps that are really painful are not normal and you might have something going on there. Just be careful how much Motrin, or anything with Ibuprofen in it, you take. It can cause your stomach to bleed if you take a bunch of it over a long period of time. If 2 pills don't kill the pain in an hour, take 2 more. That would be 800mg of ibuprofen and that's ok. I wouldn't take any more than that every 6 hours without talking to a doctor though.

Also I find it helpful to lay flat with a heating pad on my stomach and just breathing deeply through the cramps.

With birth control, again you should go and see your doctor. Maybe your doctor can explain to your mother what your medical need for birth control is and maybe she'll be willing to allow you to take it. There has been so many new pills that have come out that deal with all the painful symptoms that go along with being a woman.

Good luck!

*EDIT*
Be careful with Midol or Pamprin because they have a ton of caffeine in them. The ones without the caffeine are only 220mg of Naproxen which is just Aleve. The benefit to them is that they have a diuretic in them which helps with the bloating, but you can buy a diuretic and Aleve and save a bunch of money. That stuff is SO overpriced!!!!

ahh i am 12 i have the same problem try drinking rasberry tea my mom and i have the same problem try it it really helps i suggest rasberry zinger from celestial sesonings oh by the way welcom 2 the boat!
