Cramps.....?


What are some ways to get rid of bad cramps besides pills?

massage your lower back just below the pants line (it has to do with nerve bundles that will slow or temporarily stop cramping)
heating pad there as well
drink alot of water
mild exercise (walking)

avoid caffeine-it causes cramping or makes it more severe
if you must have hot tea, have herbal tea as it does not contain caffeine

other than that, I usually take 1 Advil and 1 Tylenol extra strength

put a worm cloth on your stomach

sometimes when i have really bad cramps i wet a wash cloth or something and put it in the mircrowave for 30 sec. and lay it on my stomach. or basically anything hot helps me. running around and exercising helps me too.

hot baths
heating pads
bananas
excersise
water
breathing regularly
little time wasters to keep your mind off it

Don't eat heavy foods and drink cold water or hot tea. It will help ease the pain.

I have a vibrating pillow that I put on my stomach for when the cramps are little. Although, I've only got this to work for minor cramps; Midol works best, for me, for my severe cramps.

Hi! I know exactly what you mean about the bad pains... Poor you =(
Here are some suggestions I use alot:
1) You need alot of rest, so take things easy. Lie on your bed, and crunch up in a ball if it's really bad - sounds funny but it's relieving =)
2) Put a hot water bottle on your lower abdomen
3) Take a nice, loooong hot bath - another chance to relax!
4) Exercise if you can, it's very relaxing and helps with the pain. If you're very tired, it's not medically recommended, you don't wanna pass out.
5) Take some painkillers like Panadol, to help you if it's painful.
6) Eating bananas also helps ease your pain, believe it or not :) Also try a hot drink, like tea.Make sure you keep your body hydrated!

drink plenty of water and avoid salty and sugary foods
bananas help too
and cranberry juice too
exercising always helps me after a while
take a nice warm bath and drink warm tea
get a hot guy to give you a full body massage =]

EXERSICE!

those menstrual hot pads, u put them on ur stomach. and midol and anything hot to eat. hot foods make the cramps go away. or hot drinks, like cocoa.

exercise and sometimes caffeine. alot of cramp meds have a bit of caffeine in them.

when i had cramps i would sit in a tub and soak for a couple of hours while listening to the radio...then i would use a heating pad and curl up and go to sleep...see if it works!
