Cramps!!!!? |
i try every thing even perscriptions from my dr. and nothing works!! I have the same problem unfortunately. My gyno was very helpful in trying several different prescriptions until we found one that would at least take the edge off. I haven't tried this but recently was watching a tv show with a gyno on it and her suggestion is to start taking ibuprofen BEFORE your period and cramping even starts...one to two days. And to take it as directed, so even if your cramps seem to have lessened still take them every 4-6 hours to keep them at bay. This will of course only work if you have a regular cycle. I would also discuss this with your doctor as I'm not sure if there are some sort of disadvantages to taking ibuprofen for several days. The other thing your doctor should be doing is some sort of follow up on this pain. If prescriptions aren't working and you're in pain, they should be at least doing some sort of testing for endometriosis, PCOS, cysts etc etc. Sometimes a combination of my prescription and just laying down with a hot water bottle on my tummy works for me. ouch! nadine below me go swivel!. try yoga. I have the worst cramps ever and yoga really helps. There is one pose where you sit down with your knees at your chest, roll onto your back, then you grab your knees and pull your legs back as far as they can comfortably go. It's hard to explain, but it really works for me. I have suffered from horrible cramps also. One thing that I do, and it really works, is take 1200mg of calcium daily. You can buy the calcium at the drug store without a prescription. Take it every single day, not just when you have your period. Your cramps will not be nearly as bad. I also take ibuprofen when they are really bad- every four hours, with lots of water. Those thermalcare heat patches that you stick on your shirt or body, they also work wonders. They stay warm for about 8 hours, and the heat really relaxes you muscles and helps ease the cramps. Ask you doctor about going on birth control if you aren't already. When I was on the pill I had hardly any cramps. It was great. Your disposable female products are toxic and are irritating the lining of your uterus. Switch to cloth. It's cute, comfy, easy to care for. Your period will decrease in length and pain in about 3 months. |
