I have severe muscle cramps and I worry about my heart cramping, since it's a muscle..Is that a possibility? |
I am a 79 year old women and have muscle cramps at various places in my body...If I yawn or look down, a muscle in the back of my neck cramps..If I lift my head off the pillow a muscle in the front of my neck cramps and actually pulls my esophagus to the left...If I bend over, my rib will cramp...At night my toes and legs will cramp for no reason...I worry that my heart muscle could cramp and kill me...Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Yes, I do believe that you can have cramps all over. I often get a cramp like pain in my chest that is unexplainable. At your age, you should be safe by asking yo ur doctor. Good Luck. A heart cramp in technical terms is called an angina. Your cramps may be symptoms of some kind of other problem, like poor circulation. You might try eating more potassium (bananas, etc.) which can help muscle cramps. However, if you are worried about your heart you should get checked out by your doctor. But, I don't think you should be paranoid about heart cramps just because of other muscle cramps. Your brain is technically a muscle too and that is like worrying about a brain cramp. You should check in with your doctor about these cramps to make sure it is not being caused by some other problem or nutrition. |
