Mucous discharge and cramps?

I have had my period already this month, started last thursday and ended Sunday. Then tuesday I started getting cramps and alot of mucus discharge like the kind I get before my period. My cramps alternate between cervical cramps(like a pinch in my pelvic area) and uterine cramps (feeling like pressure on back and lower ribs, like labor pain) I have a tilted uterus so it is not unusual to get these cramps in my back, but never AFTER my period. During my shower yesterday I noticed alot of mucus, wads of it, looked just like clear snot. What is this? an infection, pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, I am also on ortho-tricyclen. I have searched the web and cant find anything other than ovulation causing this, which is impossible being that I just came off my period. Thanks for any help.

it just sounds to me like you're a girl and your body is doing what its supposed to do. i get discharge right before AND after my period. dont be worried! its also common for cramps to come along too! :]

hope this helps!

Time to call your doctor if you're having side effects from the birth control pills you're taking since they can cause thickening of the mucous membranes in your vagina.

BIRTH CONTROL PILLS call your docter you will be ok

Its just mucous. To be honest. If you have burning or itching that follows its a yeast infection. However, its just your bodies way of cleaning itself out. Im not sure if you are sexually active. If you are, having a tilt uterus or an odd "setup" in your vaginal area and having sexual intercourse can actually be a factor as well. Sometimes during sexual intercourse with your type of set up in your vaginal area and inside, the sexual position can cause pain and cramps. Your partner may need to change positions and go slower. You are fine. Its just your bodies way of cleansing itself. If you find that you have burning or itching, consult your gynecologist. Other wise, its just mucous and your body is just releasing it. Nothing to worry about.
