Bad cough and think it is broncitis but causes bad painful headaches that I can't move?

I went on antibiotics for a week, leviquin, my neuro oncologist gave it to me as well as cough meds with codeine, and after a week I felt fine but after 5 days the cough came back. I went back to urgent care after a few weeks, got a 5 day antibiotic, same thing. This coughing is waking me up at 5 am with a round of coughing that i NEED the cough meds to stop it and I cough stuff up but have a hard time coughing it out. I get excruciating headaches with it, that i feel i am going to die. My neuro-onco knows this but he says he doesn't know what to do about it and he had such a bad day last thurs he told me to get a second opinion cause he didn't now what to do with me. I have another 6 weeks of chemotherapy to do. The tumor in the back of my head has shrunk that they don't see it on the MRI. I am done with radiation. But now I have the new problem of exertional headaches that I can't even get off the couch or use my new ab lounge even 5 times. Pls HELP, advise!!!

Empiric treatment of cough is valuable in both reversible and irreversible causes. Usually hydrocodone is used as first-line empiric treatment, but when the cough is resistant to this, a second-line therapy would be the addition or substitution of benzonatate. Bronchodilators, as well as corticosteroids, are commonly employed in practice and can be useful in unsuspected bronchospasm.

i have just gotten off of Dexamethazone and was on it the whole time and that is when I got the cough.
I do have a nebulizer though i haven't had to use it much probably due to taking 4mg of the Dex twice to 3 times a day, I haven't sneezed in about 3 months either. Report It

benzonatate I haven't heard of but the other two I have been on lately and I can't tell if it is getting better or I still need to see a doctor about. Report It

The neuro-oncologist gave me cheritussin with codeine and that does work for a while but the head pain still is there and it lingers. it wouldn't be so bad if it was there and left. Report It

I am so worried that I will pass out from the pain or something and scare my children because it is that painful. I am so ready to go to the ER about this. Since my neuro_ Oncol has known about this since after I got my shunt and all he said was get a second opinion so.... not sure what that means. Report It
