Children teeth development?

It's an article about dental growth especially in kids.

Anatomy and development of the mouth and teeth:
Parts of the tooth:
When will my child's teeth come in?

For these topics see web link below

I'm a dentist.

If you read a bunch of articles on the subject, you'll find that the numbers differ from article to article. In actuality, there are general estimates of when certain teeth erupt.

Generally, the eruption pattern is as follows:

Baby Teeth:
Mandibular and maxillary central incisors around 6-7 mos.
Mandibular and maxillary lateral incisors around 6-7 mos, but slightly later.

Mandibular and maxillary first molars around 1 year.
Mandibular and maxillary canines soon after.
Mandibular and maxillary second molars around 2 years.

Adult Teeth:
Mandibular and maxillary first molars around 6-7 years
Mandibular and maxillary incisors around 6-7 years
Mandibular and axillary laterals around 6-7, but after the centrals
Mandibular and maxillary premolars and canines around 11 to 12 years, but often canines come after the premolars
Mandibular and maxillar second molars around age 12. Can come either just before or just after the premolars come in.

This is just a very rough estimate, since significant variation can occur, but the sequence is usually followed.

deciduous dentition

maxillary central incisor - 7 1/2 mos.
lateral incisor - 9 mos.
cuspid - 18 mos.
1st molar - 14 mos.
2nd molar - 24 mos.

mandibular central incisor - 6 mos.
lateral incisor - 7 mos.
cuspid - 16 mos.
1st molar - 12 mos.
2nd molar - 20 mos.
