Why would a mom knowingly deny her child medical care?

when she has health insurance and EVERY needed resource available and made known to her, at no cost to her? What would cause a mother to deny care, allow serious conditions (dental, hearing, speech) to worsen, and months of excruciating pain and trauma to develop in her child - and hide the pattern from the other parent? Is there a psychological condition that matches this scenario?

No, no religious reasons. No logistical or hardship reasons - nothing. She is given the recommendations/instructions, then lies and says she did it - and leaves them to get worse, and says the doctors told her something else (which is provably false)

She isn't being responsible for what ever reason. Take the power of decision making for the children out of her hands since she doesn't take it seriously. She is affecting another person's life.

may be because of cultural or religious beliefs e.g jahovas witnesses do not believe in sharing blood thus a blood transfusion would be out of the question

ceratin religions christian sci for one do that. Otherwise a sadist comes to mind people like serial killers

She either doesn't want to admit her child has a problem or she believes in faith healing. Either way, she's a nut case.

Lots of issues, faith healing, thinks the kid is lying etc...It could be much much WORSE. it could also give the parent satisfaction that the child "NEEDS" him/her. It could also be munchausen....

This person needs serious psychological help and the child should tell the other parent or another adult. This is serious abuse.

Also some parents feel certain medication can cause more harm than good(look up mecury in shots causing autism debate ) I mean it could be anything but this child needs help. Please tell them to tell another adult.

Hate to suggest this, but perhaps she is abusive and doesn't want anyone to find out.
Or perhaps she sees something wrong with them as meaning there's something wrong with her parenting. There are some pretty twisted people out there.
