What hurts more...recovering from broken ribs or a cesarean section?

I am looking for an answer from someone who has experienced both 'pains'. Thanks

I have had 2 c-sections, did really well with both, have had several friends with broken ribs and wouldn't choose that one for anything!!

sorry i cant help you with that one. I've broken my arm and leg before. I broke my femur and had to stay in the hospital for a month and it hurt like hell. I will never experience a cesarean section cause I'm a man but i can imagined it hurts like hell too

Sorry I can't help you on both fronts...geez, I'd hope nobody had to deal with BOTH! I'm sure somebody has...but yeeee-ouch!

I've only had a broken rib. It hurt quite a bit for a coupla weeks and made it very hard to breathe, but my bruised spleen beneath it was what really hurt (rugby injury, payback for breaking out another player's tooth, but she was ASKING for it because she wasn't wearing a mouthguard...oh, long story a long time ago. Anyway...)

I would think a c-section would be much worse, though, because it's generally a large incision in a spot that moves a LOT and it's a deep cut through a lot of flesh. I mean, a broken rib is nothing to sneeze at (sneezing hurts a LOT, too, even more than breathing), but unless you broke a LOT of ribs, I'd have to say c-section just as a guess.

I mean, not to minimize my own suffering, but a c-section on top of being pregnant...oh, that sounds like agony. Some women have VOLUNTARY c-sections because they don't want their hoo-hoos stretched out, but if you think about it, at least there's already a hole down there!

There's no hole in your abdomen. They have to MAKE one...that has to be really painful.

I wouldn't recommend either one.
