Minor cerebral palsy?

hi, i'm mary lynn and i'm 22 years old.
well, i have cerebral palsy but it's very minor and only my right side is affected. i love to sing and hope to be famous one day =]. i'm always a happy person, i smile too much, and i laugh at everything. i accept my condition and i like being poositive about it.

anyway, getting to the point.

this semester for english class i decided to do cerebral palsy as my research paper. so i was reading about it online, and it doesn't have much info on the minor side of CP. i'm curious on the life span of it. is it equivalent to those of the major ones? would women with minor CP or CP in general be able to have babies?.

btw if you'd like to chat with me, just IM me.

thanks.

I know a lady who has CP and has two kids.

Maree, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to have a long and happy life. Technically speaking, CP isn't a disease. You can't "catch it" from someone else, it's a condition you're born with. But I understand your question. CP shouldn't keep you from doing anything you want to do. Think of it this way: You have cerebral palsy; cerebral palsy doesn't have you. Josh Blue has fairly severe CP, but he's one of the top comedians in show business today. Last year he won "Last Comic Standing."

All other things being equal, and as long as your general health is good, you should be able to have babies. Hope this helps.

Oh sweetie, let me tell you, my brother i law has severe C.P> and he is in a group home. There are medcations that can help you in certain areas. You just have it midely so you have led a comfortable life, if I were you, I woud talk to a doctor, actually a specialist, neurosurgeon and ask these questions. You could have a child that may come into this world that has none of your symptoms, or the oppisite. I would think carefully and do your research with the doctors before you commit yourself with a child. Adoption is always a nice thing as well. God Bless.
