Swelling due to cellulitis?

I was wondering, i had cellulitis in my left foot about a year ago and i was wondering if anyone knew about how long it takes for the swelling to COMPLETELY go away. i still have a pretty substaintial amount of puffyness to my foot...althought the cellulitis is comepltely gone. Just wondering because i have my wedding coming up in october and i was hoping it was atleast slightly gone by then.

i knew another personw ho had it and she said it took awhile for hers to completly go away too

Note: NOT cellulite...CELLULITIS!

If you have scarring left, it should take about a year...even two (depending on how fair your skin is) to completely lighten. Maybe talk to your dermatologist about a peeling agent. These can expediate the exfoliation rate of your skin, thus, promoting the growth of new layers and getting rid of the old scarred layers. In the meantime, keep it dry, free of moisturizers.

Listen idiot. I WAS trying to help. I had cellulitis. The redness DOES look like swelling, but it IS a scar. If you truly do have SWELLING, then the spot may have gotten reinfected. Learn how to communicate properly and people will be better able to answer your question. Report It
