Celiac Disease question?

I am wondering if anyone else with Celiac Disease has found that their sense of smell is heightened since removing all the gluten from your diet? I know it sounds crazy but I swear that I smell Curry all the time. I am not crazy. I have always had a good smeller, but now it seems to be even more intense.

I don't know if this is because my sinuses are clearer but I can always smell pizza where before i went gf i didn't notice it so much. I think with me it may be mental, since now I can't have it, but who knows?

I don't have celiac, but I have other food allergies and when I stay away from those foods I have less congestion in my sinuses and nose so I can smell, breathe and taste things better. I would imagine it's the same when you get all the gluten out of your diet.

I might have allergies to wheat in addition to celiac disease. Any time that I eat more than the faintest trace of wheat-containing products, I get almost completely stuffed up and have stomach pain for two months.

Since I gave up gluten, I can breathe through my nose. It is a world of change and a blessed relief. I am also free of undending trips to see a doctor every six weeks or oftener. This is the longest that I've ever been without a doctor in my life, to the best of my knowledge.

My sister-in-law has had celiac disease for 20 yrs and it took doctors 10yrs to diagnose the condition. She can neither smell or taste food.

it cetainly seems possible bc I noticed after beign diagnosed and going gluten free that my sinsues cleared up and I could breathe better!
R u pregnant? :)
