Cavities ? |
hi, okay so today i have to go to the dentist and i have a cavity.. i know that cavities arent susposed to hurt , but ive had them done before and for me when she was drilling i could feel EVERYTHING. well how bad was the pain? I'm a dental nurse and have had 3 fillings with no local anaesthetic cos i'm not keen on the needle or the numb feeling. There's a difference between real pain (you wouldn't be able to let her do it!) and sensations (you kinda wait for it to really start hurting but it doesn't. I'd tell her it still hurts if i were you. there are a number of different anaesthetics that can be used and not all work for everybody. You may even need some form of oral/conscious sedation if its a real pain, could be all to do with if you are real tense and nervous. good luck!! x |
