Can X-rays reveal all cavities to the dentist? I had cavities filled, but is can still feel, cavities ouch?!?

if x-ray reveal all cavities, why do i still feel cavities, it's more less in between my teeth. when i suck on tooth, i fell it ouch!!

new dentist, is he just a tired 50 year man!! can't see?
what should i do ? x ray do fail to reveal all ?

I notice some teeth i cannot floss them ??
floss won't fit between ?
I guess fillings are hanging over edge, probably ? could this be the cause, my tooth is pushing other one too close causing pain ?
More sensitive to hot or cold, plus when i bite down hard, ouch, it the tooth before the wisdom, i feel overhanging filing with my nail to touch it ?

Xrays are not totally reliable in locating all cavities. They are a single tool to be combined with other methods - sight, touch, Diagnodent, experience... to come to a diagnosis.
After a cavity is filled, it is common to have some slight post-op pain for a few days. Anything after that requires reassessment. White fillings in particular are prone to post-op pain. Is this pain coming from a tooth that was filled?
It also could be due to other factors like cracked cusps, abrasion lesions, chemical erosion.
Go back for a re-examination and ask politely for an explanation.

If I were you I would get a new dentist and tell them your symptoms. X-rays will not show small cavities and even worse if you have a hairline fracture in that tooth it will not show up the dentist will have to put a piece of wood or something hard on that tooth and have you bite down to find the problem tooth.

X-rays dont show all cavities. but some dentists have little x-rays that they can put in your mouth tell your dentist to try one of them next time if he hasnt already

well more or less all cavities or caries can appear in x-ray (again it also depends on what x-rays have been taken for example bite wing, periapical xray.etc. are preffered ones)
again i do agree with DR.MATT here that xray is not the only thing for diagnosis...its actually a major part of diagnosis but combination of history, examination and diagnostic tools such as xrays.etc. act as ideal combination for proper diagnosis of dental diseases.
anywayz if ur dentist has filled them up and ur still feeling pain it may well be due to overhanged filling(filling extended),high spot(high levelled filling) or sensitivity due to treatment itself (which can occur for few days specially in acute conditions)..but.i would prefer that if ur pain continues go back to ur dentist and have a check up it may be possible that there is microleakage.etc.these things do appear on xrays...so its best to go back to the dentist tell him your prob n hav another check up

No xrays or radiographs as they are really called do not reveal all. Small cavities can be VERY subtle on a radiograph. Ask your dentist if they have "diagnodent" pronounced DI-AG-NO-DENT or similar device. It is a machine that can find cavities unseen by the nake eye. Or just ask the dentist to check the teeth that you feel pain in again. Don't be afraid to call the dentist and ask him to recheck.

I heard that if you have some small cracks in teeth, cavity can develop inside and be invisible from the outside of the tooth....

I am currently thinking I have two cavities and I pointed at them when I had mu cleaning done and dental hygenist said they were not cavities...I had x rays done....I worry, I can see the darkness inside these teeth...are those cavities?? How to politely insist so that my doctor checks them all possible ways???
