Cataract - operation? |
I have consulted 4/5 eye doctors and also patients who had cataract operations. Doctors advised that cataract operation is advisable at any time i.e. any stage of disease and not to wait until ripe stage of cataract whereas some suggested that cataract has to be operated when it is ripe, the same confusion is in the advise of patients. Please give guidance on this subject. There are 3/4 TYPES of operation procedures. Which is the safe and best procedure for cataract operation? I am staying in Mumbai - India. Avoid anyone who says the cataract has to be "ripe" this is a desperately old tem and approach. get it done buy a good doctor...i would not wait...i used to work for three opthomologists...the earlier you take care of it the better the results.... I had cataract surgery almost 2 years ago and it is wonderful. I had the foldable lenses and all has gone well. It was believed earlier that cataract should be fully mature to get operated upon but nowadays studies suggest that there may be chances that the cataract may get hyper mature and burst also as the vision of the cataract eye is already abnormal it may put more strain on the other eye leading to problems further. |
