Does Cataract surgery effects malcular degeneration problem? |
Existing macular degeneration from last 20 years, now is having cataract in both the eyes. I read that cataract surgery will further harm eyes due to macular degeneration problem My father has macular degeneration in both of his eyes, both the wet and dry versions, lucky him. He has had cataracts removed from both eyes, one just 2 weeks ago. The specialist that is watching the macular degeneration was the one that wanted him to have the cataract removed, so I don't know what to tell you, obviously the doctor felt it was important to remove the cataract.
