Usually removing a cataract, do you get sight back?

i was currently in a car accident about 6 months ago and ill have cataract removal surgery in the next 6 months. when removing the cataract, do you usually get sight back? or will i have to get the cornea transplant? im just open for all answers from people who know but ill find out from my doc next week.

If it's a regular cataract removal like an older person has, they put an artifical lens in and you can see much better.
