Symptoms of Cat scratch fever, Are they normal??? |
I was recently diagnosed with a mild case of cat-scratch disease. My cat had scratched me in the leg, and the lymph node in my left groin has swollen to the size of a tennis ball. It's very painful to touch, so much that it has even affected my ability to walk long distances. The doctor took blood and told me that my white-blood cell count was normal, red blood cell was low (so I am anemic). My question is, my lymph node is still swollen after about 3 weeks of antibiotic pills. It's very red and sometimes purple around it. Recently it has begun itching. Is all of this normal? I was hoping the itching would be a sign of recovery. Please let me know, anybody! The thing with Cat Scratch Fever is that there are a bunch of random symptoms that may or may not be normal. Again Cat Scratch Fever, can be random. if it still is red around your lymph node ,it could possibly still be infected, and if you are having trouble walking then that would definitely be an excellent reason to see a doctor. he'll probably start you on a stronger dose of antibiotic, and if that doesn't work you may have something more serious. |
