Is it possible i have rabies? |
We are worried our kitten had rabies, so we took him to the vet, right away when she seen him she said "Oh yea" rabies is the first thing that came to me" now they are testing for rabies, which means they killed the cat to do the testing, anyway, Yes, there's a possibility. It wouldn't hurt to have the family tested and treated for possible exposure. Don't wait for the results on the kitten, your treatment can be prophylactic. yes its possible...better get vaccinated You could have it- because one time our cats had rabies- and we all had to get tested- so try to get tested. good luck. Yes, call your PCP they will want to start the shots now is very posible better check your doctor for a rabies shot to be sure about it, is hard that a kitten had rabies, a wild animal bite him if so go for you rabies shot Yes, it is possible as far as I was told, by the hospital. My husband took my little Peekapoo outside to potty at 4 in the morning. We live on a golf course and there are a lot of fox here. One tried to get my dog that morning, but my husband was able to pick her up before it bit her. Well, it was pretty mad and it turned on my husband. It bit him several times on the fingers and when he ran to the front door to get something to hit it with it attacked his heels. We took him to the emergency room and the wildlife officer met us there. Yes, the fox had rabies. We were told all the animal has to do is draw blood and there is a chance you can contract it. I hope you find the kitten did not have rabies. The shots are extremely expensive, but on the positive side, my husband did not have to receive them in his stomach like the old days. He was given them in his arms and legs. But they are a series of shots and are quite painful. I don't mean to scare you but I just thought since we already know whats involved you may want to know. Sorry, I needed to add something else, we were told you can get rabies not only by a bite, but just by the saliva from the animal in question. Definately, get tested!!!!! It's worth getting the prophylactic treatment, if there is any suspicion of the cat having rabies. Once symptoms appear, rabies is not treatable, so I would personally push for the shots. You don't lose anything, and if during the course of treatment the tests on cat are negative, you can stop. its overly possible my friend got scratched by a bat that had rabies and had to get vaccinated. you should get vaccinated before the results come out just to be safe though. and if i'm correct they give you the shots in your kidneys? though i think they may have a new method now Firstly sorry about your kitten. |
