Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.... advice please? |
I've had carpal tunnel syndrome since I was pregnant with my son 2 years ago. All I know is DONT GET CORTISONE shots! They frickin KILL and didnt help in the long run I had carpal tunnel when I was 16. I brought some heated gloves to improve my circulation and the operation is day surgey which you cant use your hand for weeks. did help tho. I still get the odd pain now when using pc. grape seed extract and a high b complex worked for me. i had it years ago as I'm a nurse it killed every time i needed to use my hands,i tryed the tablets, splints and even had the injections in my wrists,i tryed rapping my wrists in a warming blanket but nothing helped.i ended up having to have the operation as my work was suffering and i will be honest it hurts and you have your hands wrapped up for ages and you cant use your hands for anything which is a pain in the ****. Go into Gary Craig's website www.emofree.com--EFT may be able to help--use his search engine for the condition--I seem to remember an article there which said EFT helped just recently. I had carpal tunnel syndrome after each of my children was born and while I was pregnant. After my last child was born it didn't go away. I went to my GP who refered me to a specialist. After having loads of tests the specialist said I needed and operation to decompress the nerves in my wrists. I had the operation done under a local anaesthetic and had both hands done at the same time. My hands were a bit sore for a couple of days but I didn't need to take painkillers. While the bandages were on and I had stitches in my hands there wasn't a lot I could do but I managed. After ten days the stitches came out and I have never suffered with carpal tunnel syndrome since. When I look at my hands I can't even see the scars. Before I had the surgery people told me it wouldn't be successful and everyone knew someone who had had it done only to be worse afterwards. Get yourself referred to a specialist, it was the best thing I did. Good luck. |
