Home tests for carpal tunnel syndrome?

I might have carpal tunnel syndrome, and I'm going to a doctor soon, but in the meantime, does anyone know any tests, doesn't matter how accurate, just curious? thanks!

When I went in they had me put my wrists together (arms in front of you, hands bent down, wrists touching) and wanted to see how long it took for the numbness/tingling to start. For me it was almost immediate so he prescribed some of those splints for me. They said they have other tests but this one is simple and not painful like some others.

Just be careful with diagnosis, carpal tunnel syndrome mimicks and can be compared to repetitive stress injury. Doctors are too quick to recommend surgery and if you keep repeating the movements that are causing the injury surgery or not it will come back. Try massaging your upper forearm and see if the muscles are tight. try giving yourself a 15 min massage at least 4 times a week in that area. Ive worked on people with this injury and 99% of the time it works in aiding and preventing this type of injury. The only way to get rid of it is to stop what you are doing. Since quitting work is not generally an option, prevention and taking care of it is the next best thing. Good Luck

Since carpal tunnel syndrome involves the carpal bones of the wrist, it may be advantageous to visually check to see if one of them is raised. If so, it should also be tender to pressure. This resultant to the displacement as well as the edema within the capsule of that bone.

Presenting symptoms are generally pain on motion, restricted weight bearing (as pushing away from the table), perhaps the feeling of a "catch" in the wrist.

The advanced stage of this condition involves a highly inflamed area, to involve areas above the wrist. Even so far as creating neural damage. Due to the constant pressure of the edema.
