Has anyone had endoscopic surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, did it take a long time to recuperate? |
I have carpal in both my hands. I'm supposed to have surgery on them,but i'm hesitant to do it...I have type 2 diabetes and am afraid it won't heal well..also afraid of irreversible nerve damage. I to have carpal tunnel in both hands, my doctor stlls me that it would take about 2-3 weeks to recover. as far as irreversible nerve damage, the longer you wait the worce your CTS will get, My dad had surgery on both of his hands for carpal tunnel syndrome. He was totally useless for about 1month and a half. My mother had to be his hands from feeding to using the restroom. He also has diabetes. It does take more time to heal with an illness, but takes forever to get used to using your hands again. He also still has a tingleing sensations in parts of his fingers because of it. |
