Carpal Tunnel Syndrome...Please help.?

Ok, This question is for the people that have or had suffered this discease. I'm not sure I have it, I went to the doctor and she gave me when packet of esteroids and the pain decrease but it didn't totally go away, so she wants me to see a hand surgeon, I don't want a surgery, I wanna try something else before that.

Just for the record, yes, I'm someone that has abused the use of the mouse for more than 8 years, I work on the semiconductor industry and all I do is to draw on the computer all day long.

This is what I feel...

I don't have pain in my wrist at all.
My pain starts at the top of my hand (I do have a bump there) where the nerves for the index finger and the medium finger go up.
It starts like tingling the numb them the whole arm hurts 'til reaches the elbow.

I know I have to go to a better doctor, I just wanted to get some opinion from the people here that been in a similar situation.

Thanks a lot.

Thanks ibleed... I found the picture you mentioned...

Downward dog (yoga move) works for me. your wrists will be in the ideal "draining" position. its kinda weird, but it works for me. try an image search for downward dog,

I've also found that the location of the mouse has something to do with it returning. ie. the mouse and keyboard as close to waist level as you can get
