I'm a Private Caregiver which means I have no health insurance my client fell on me injuring my back and neck. |
His wife lives there also and manages everything she knows I'm really hurt and insists homeowners insurance wont pay for anything what should I do. I hope this helps Talk to a lawyer. Contact a lawyer. Sometimes a letter will get things moving. See now, if you were working for a company you could be insured by them or sue them, or sue your client. But when you are in business for yourself you're supposed to have insurance of some kind for protection. Yes clients can injure you in accidents as well as break your neck or cause you total paralysis. If you don't have insurance then I would think the cost is on you if you don't sue them. If you're hurt for good then either have your county services take x-rays (which you must get a copy of if you plan to go on disability). I would suggest if you feel you are hurt for good that you find yourself an attorney who would represent you for filing for disability. Otherwise, get yourself an attorney and sue. Neither will you have to pay for upfront. But realize that what money comes in you would only get 1/3 and you're not going to make any big money off of this so eventually you'll have to go on disability and have low income the rest of your life. So if you can correct this problem yourself by bedrest then do it, and later take an easy type job that will not affect your back and neck. I don't know if you are in a position where you need a chiropractor or a doctor. If it were me I'd probably start with a chiropractor. Be sure to document everything in a notebook, and get copies of all tests. If you file for disability in say five years those doctors might not be around any longer nor will your test results be, that's why you need to get copies of everything now, even the notes from the doctor's files. While you are sorting this out I would get MySimpleCard Get a lawyer, that is what homeowner insurance is partly for! file suit. If your that hurt you can't do your job and it might pay if not they will have to pay ... simple as that. In the mean time get a massage from a good friend and consult a physician. The Law is always changing you have 'Rights' seek them out who knows !!good luck... |
