What are some careers that you can NOT pursue if you are color blind?

Color blind meaning that you can still see color, just can't distinguish between certain ones. So what are some jobs that you cant do because of this condition? Are they mostly in transportation fields?

Depends on the severity and type of colour blindness.

Rail worker, deck officer in commerical vesel, bus/tram drivers, aviation, armed forces, police, fire and rescue, electricians. All these professisons have colour requirements but depending on the severity of a colour vision defect you may still be able to do them.

Other professions such as a fruiter, pathologist, interior designer or paint mixer .... these generally don't have colour restrictions but someone who is colour defective will have difficulty doing them

Pilot

anything in fashion I would say.
Interior design
Landscaper(needs to know the color of plants and blooms for clients, and how to landscape in a palate)

I think it disqualifies you from military involvement in the U.S. You can't be a pilot or an electrician. Being an artist would be a bit of a hassle, but I don't think anyone will stop you.

I can't think of anything else, but generally anything that requires distinguishing between a wide range of colors. Depending on the kind of color-blindness it could be worse. I'm assuming that we're talking about the most common kind, which is red-green deficiency.

Well you can't be an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Engineer.

Cut the red wire!

Wait, which one?

The RED one! It's next to the green!

BANG!!!
