Late start on life, lacking direction. Seeking encouragement.?

I feel I've gotten a late start on life. I spent my 20s without much direction, dating a lot but never settling down. I just wanted to have "fun." My career also took a meandering path.

Now I'm in grad school but I'm honestly still not sure I'm pursuing the right career. I'm still single. Basically, I don鈥檛 have anything figured out yet! I'm worried about graduating with a sizable debt, possibly without a career I decide to pursue, and without a serious relationship.

Meanwhile, my peers are mostly settled down, starting families and moving onwards and upwards in their careers. I am putting tremendous pressure on myself for my failure to achieve in these areas.

I guess I "want it all," the perfect job (whatever that is) and the perfect guy (where is he?!) et cetera. How can I define my goals, reinvent myself and find direction? Would much appreciate your inspiring stories, encouragment, or commiseration.

Everyone has their own time line to accomplish different milestones in their life, try not to compare yourself to others, and just do the best you can do.

You can still have fun and start your life too, You said your career took a meandering path, was it your choice or because your peers are settled down and starting a family and you want to be just like them, everyone has there own path that they choose and you are affecting yours by thinking about it. You say you want it all, perfect job, perfect guy. In life that will all come but as I see it now, you lost belief in yourself because you want what others have done, just be patient and continue what you started and finish it or else it will haunt you later in life. I hope this encourage you to go for what you want than to be like what your peers have done. I'm a stranger but I believe you can do it, set your mind on it and go for it. Wish you luck and happiness and sooner than you think, the perfect job and guy will be knocking at your door.
