Define cardiopulmonary resuscitation?

I'd just like to add that the latest guidelines for CPR specifiy 30 chest compressions for every 2 rescue breaths. Chest compressions supply a tiny but critical blood pressure to the coronary arteries and the brain, and it's very important to carry them out adequately.

It's a method to esablish blood circulation artificially for persons who have cardiac arrest. It is composed of external cardiac compressions alternatively with arificial breaths given to the client via various routs such as :mouth -to-mouth, mouth-to- nose,...etc. usally given in a ratio of 5 chest comressions -to- one breath for adults
