Cardiomyopathy and Wellbutrin? |
I have Cardiomyoapthy with an ejection fraction of 30. I will have an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator inserted in my chest next month. I also have Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue and Sleep Apnea (I use a C-Pap machine at night). As a result of this I have severe depression and have recently seen a Neurologist who has prescribed Wellbutrin. He said it would help the depression as well as give me energy to help combat the fatigue. according to my references you should be fine. The drug is mainly excreted and metabolized through the liver. I would make sure he won't a script for 150mg and not 300mg since the metabolites will stay longer in your system due to your decreased ejection fraction. But you will be okay |
