Can cardiomyopathy and hypertension be related? |
Aside from being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, I am also being treated for hypertension. (I take Coreg and Benicar for high blood pressure. I take Digoxin for my cardiomyopathy.) Yes of course especially HOCM (hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy) which it sounds like you have. With that your heart walls get stronger and bulkier and its highly likely for those walls to block the outflow tract to the body causing the heart to work more harder to get that oxygenated blood to the body. i think so. my dad died of cardiomyopathy, and he had extremely high blood pressure. what's happening is that the heart is being forced to beat faster, so it works harder, and the heart grows. it will eventually fail if it is not treated. Cardiomyopathy can be caused by hypertension among other things and can be made worse by it. Well, I'm not a Dr but my husband has heart disease AND high blood pressure. High blood pressure can lead to heart problems as it makes it harder for you heart to work. It can't pump the blood as well. Yes! YES absolutely the two are related. the extra work load on the heart will cause the heart to enlarge. Yeah, of course they can. What information are you looking for, exactly? |
