Paripartum cardiomyopathy?

i was wondering if i was considered severe cardiomyopaty my cardiologist never told me i was but i was just wondering my ef is 30 i am able to walk and do most activity's without be too winded . thank you

You are not considered normal. normal is an EF of 45 or higher. It's great you're not having any complications now. I was like that when I was diagnosed 11 yrs ago. The lowest mine ever got was less than 10% (they didn't want to tell me the real number), then a few weeks later it went back up to 20%, then a year later back up to 36%. It was only about 2 yrs ago that my ef went from 36% down to 20% and now 17%. When my ef was in the upper 20s and 30s I rarely felt winded or had much trouble controling fluid retention.

I am not a doctor, but I will give it a stab in the dark. NOPE you are not.. your seem fine to me.... take two asprin and post in the morning.

this condition is quite rare. if you do have it, you might be exibiting some breathing problems particularly at night, palpitations and some abdominal pain. i dont know if there is a cure for this condition but there are ways to help alleviate the symptoms. if your present cardiologist is unable to give u any answers, may i suggest you go to another one. hope this helps.

According to the Social Security Blue Book, an EF of 30% is the upper threshold for being considered disabled.
