Just want to know if cardiomyopathy is still curable? Depends what kind of Cardiomyopathy. Certain types of cadiomyopathies like Hypertrophic cardiomyopathies are curable with surgeries and alcohol ablation whereas dilated cardiomyopathy is not curable. If it was before, I'm going to say yes. Medical practices usually don't go backwards. There are several forms of cardiomyopathy. Hypertrophic being the most common. Put simply its the heart muscle becoming thick and stiff. Medications can control the symptoms although the disease will still be there. Some surgeries can help the symptoms as time passes and ultimately a heart transplant is a possibility. Please see the webpage for more information. In some cases, heart transplantation is the only solution. |
