I have recently been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy?

(hypertrophic) and am wondering if others have experienced this, and what medical interventions haved proved useful in treating the problems associated with this.

Treatment depends on the type of cardiomyopathy, but may include medical therapy and implanted artificial pacemakers. The goal of treatment is often symptom relief, with the underlying condition unaffected. Some patients may eventually require a heart transplant. Treatment of cardiomyopathy (and other heart diseases) using alternative methods such as stem cell therapy is commercially available but is not supported by convincing evidence

My mother was diagnosed with that several years prior to her passing. It is somewhat serious as I believe it refers to the weaking of the heart muscle which in turn leads to pace makers and congestive heart failure. This is not a medical opinion nor intended to be! Any heart condition requires the expertise of a qualified cardiologist!
PS: My mother passed from diabetes which the heart was compromised but not the primary cause of death.

There is a great site with all kinds of info and treatment options. There are also links to groups as well for open discussions.
