Biospectral index in cardiac surgery?

Biospectral index in cardiac surgery?

Do you mean bispectral index, or the BIS monitor? It is supposed to give the anesthesiologist a measure of patient awareness.

Your question isn't very specific.

Some places use 'em, some don't.

When I have used them for non-cardiac surgery, I find that they are more reactive than predictive, and not really of that much use. Not enough to justify the cost, anyway.

Try phrasing your question so that it can be answered.
