Anaesthetical drugs used in cardiac surgery?

I want to know management of anaesthesia in open heart surgery

Not sure if you are looking for a technical answer or not. I do cardiac anesthesia and will give you technical answers below.

1) Pt in room and on bed fully awake; std monitors paced
2) Arterial line and large bore IV started
3) Versed given for relaxation
4) Oxygen via facemask
5) Induction of anesthesia; typical meds; moderate doses of narcotic (fentanyl), induction agent (usually etomidate), muscle relaxant (usually pancuronium)
6) Placement of endotracheal tube and ventilator
7) More lines; central line/Pulmonary atery catheter
8) Transesophageal echo probe
9) Surgery starts
10) During surgery multiple drugs are sometimes used to control hemodynamics and blood clotting. They include: heparin, protamine, amicar, aprotinin, epinepherine, levophed, nitoglycerine, sodium nitroprusside, insulin, milrinone, phenyepherine, edhedrine and maybe some others.
11) Surgery ends and pt is transfered to ICU intubated and sedated.
12) extubation and continued recovery in an institution specific manner

-- This is not how everyplace does it. It is the basic plan for one of the largest programs in the world.

It depends on how long they kept you a sleep, plus in your medical notes, it will show how long you were and how much was used in dosage. To get these records just go to Hospital that surgery was done, ask for your records. Or Anesth Physician records will be in your heart physician records..YOU have the right to all your medical information. It is yours. New law is that Physicians do not have to carry your records past few years SO IF I WAS U GET A COPY...IF TOO EMBARRASSED TO ASK FOR THEM???WHO IS PAYING THE BILL. Don't you get your auto receipt bills, electrician ect...same thing my buddy..All people now day needs to keep all medical records on hand at home and if your traveling...again wish you well hope this helps...my experience get them..keep them...
