Help on Palpitations and pulmonary stenosis?

HI
Im 40 and for several weeks have had increased heart palpitations.
I am also having dizzy spells/extreme tiredness feeling hot and achy and slightly swollen ankles.
I have diagnosed moderate pulmonary stenosis, a heart murmur and previous cardiac surgery to repair a hole to the heart.
I am overweight and a smoker (I know bad, bad, bad!) but I would like to hear from others who may have similar conditions to me (there must be SOMEONE!) especially if you are older and have gone on to have further heart surgery I am interested to know about successful pulmonary surgery because I think my cardiologist is going to be considering me for an operation.

I do not have any experience similar to yours but I am familiar with the heart through my pre med studies. Your new symptoms sound similar to atherosclerosis and without an operation you would only be causing further damage. All I can say is to express your feelings of anxiety with your doctor and find out how much surgical experience he has. Besides that, with heart conditions, a second opinion is advisable. Beyond that there is nothing more you can do but trust your doctor, who by the way had to go through twelve years of college to get where he is today, and think positively about your situation. Many people, including myself, believe that your thoughts can carry you far and thinking positively throughout this situation and throughout life will have immense health benefits. Good Luck!!!!!

Since you have a murmur and you have been diagnosed with a stenosis, I would believe you have a stenosis of the pulmonary semilunar valve. I believe your surgery would consist of valve replacement. If I am correct you should get it done.
