Is cardiac arrythmia a disease? it may predict cardiac disease but u still need further investigations coz it may be physiological or pathological anyway it doesnot mean disease no it isn't..your heart is beating erratically No...it's an unusual heart rhythm. Could be minor...depends on what it is. Atrial fibrilation is one example...which can be serious...but can be controlled with medication. Other arrythmias can be just irregular heart beat, and can be resolved with medication or not. Cardiac arrhythmia simply means that the heart rhythm is not normal. It may be too fast or slow , regular or irregular. cardiac arrhythmias can be caused by abnormalities in the sinus node or the atrio-ventricular node these could be congenital (born with abnormal nodes) or acquired due to metabolic, neoplastic , infectious or circulatory causes.
